Vision

Our vision is to acknowledge and honor the past, present, and future. We commit to honor and respect our culture, traditions, and Anishinaabe ways of life by ensuring our student’s success.

Values

We will be guided by our seven grandfather/grandmother teachings:

  • Zaagidiwin (Love) “To know love is to know peace.”
  • Debwewin (Truth) “Truth is to know all of these things.”
  • Mnaadendmowin (Respect) “To honor all creation is to have respect.”
  • Nbwaakaawin (Wisdom) “To cherish knowledge is to know wisdom.
  • Dbaadendiziwin (Humility) “Humility is to know yourself as a sacred part of creation.”
  • Gwekwaadziwin (Honesty) “Honesty in facing the situation is to be brave.”

Partners

Kinoomaadiziwin Education Body - The Kinoomaadziwin Education Body is the central administrative structure for the Anishinabek Education System.

Anishinabek Education System - The Anishinabek Education System (AES) promotes Anishinaabe culture and language and improves education outcomes for Anishinabek students. Through the Anishinabek Nation Education Agreement, Nipissing First Nation and 23 participating First Nations, have full control over how to best allocate education funding. The funding will also allow for the delivery of educational programs and services. To support the AES, NFN passed the Nipissing First Nation Education Law.

Anishinabek Educational Institute - "We believe that all First Nation students have the potential to achieve their academic and employment goals. Our quality programming is responsive to First Nations needs. We provide a comfortable, supportive learning environment that promotes the traditional values of sharing, caring and respect."
